Motorcycle Cooling Systems
Whether your bike is liquid cooled or air cooled, it’s important that everything is working properly so that the engine does not overheat. To keep your bike running cool, you need to maintain your motorcycle cooling system or even upgrade it with aftermarket cooling systems. Liquid cooled bikes need to have their radiator systems running well and flowing with ease. Air cooled engines can be upgraded with cylinder head fans to get the maximum amount of air flowing across the heat sinks (fins). Both styles can be made to ride in the warmest conditions without issue.Stock radiators work fine, but some just cannot hold up to extreme temps and riding conditions. Aftermarket motorcycle radiators can provide a better flow to maximize cooling and can also be more durable and lighter too. But even if you don’t need to upgrade, it’s still important to maintain your liquid cooled system. That means ensuring that the water pump, thermostat, coolant hoses and more are all working properly. If they are not, they can be replaced with a quality aftermarket part that will work just as good, if not better than stock.
Air cooled motorcycles are more susceptible to overheating because they are so dependent on moving air. This is especially true for stop-and-go conditions like parades, rallies and city traffic. A popular solution is to use cylinder head fan cooling systems like those from Love Jugs and JIMS. These systems work on a thermostat or by manual operation and will blow intense streams of fresh air over the cooling fins of the cylinder to help speed up the cooling process.
At Dennis Kirk, you will find the best selection of motorcycle cooling systems for both liquid and air cooled machines and for the lowest guaranteed prices. We keep everything in stock and ready to ship to you the same day that you order. That way you can be back out riding with a properly cooled motorcycle as soon as possible. And when your order is over $89, we will ship it to you absolutely free. Use our Shop By Ride selector at the top of the page to find all of the specific fitment cooling parts. If you’re unsure of what is right for your motorcycle, feel free to contact our Tech Support Team as well.
