Harley-Davidson T-Bars

handlebars are often a personal choice. You want the bars to not only look good, but also to provide comfort and performance. Harley T-Bars are a polarizing handlebar option. Many guys don’t like the non-traditional look of T-Bars, while others love the look and feel like they provide the most comfortable option. Harley T-Bar handlebars feature built-in risers to lift the bar into a more comfortable and/or stylish position. Then the bar on type often more resembles that of MX Bars or drag bars. Fans of those styles of bars on other bikes are often fans of T-Bars on Harleys.

Many riders come to Harleys from dirt bikes or performance motorcycle backgrounds. Apes and buffalo bars can feel foreign to those riders. T-Bars with an MX style bend are a great option for these riders to feel more comfortable on their Harley. Plus, with the rise of Performance Baggers, the T-Bar is now more in style than ever. These are the handlebars of choice for Bagger racers. T-Bars are also very popular on Sportsters and Dynas, giving them a more performance appeal and feel.

One of the biggest advantages of Harley T-Bar handlebars is their narrow width. They have long been popular on the West Coast for lane splitting. The narrower width also helps to prevent fatigue by not ballooning your arms like some ape hangers can. Many riders also find that T-Bars put less strain on their wrists and shoulders while riding. They often require less input from the rider to turn the bars.

Installing T-Bars on your Harley can provide some challenges, depending on the bike and bars chosen. Some risers may cover up the stock gauges on your motorcycle. Mocking up the height of the risers can help you determine what height or bars are best for your bike. Also, if your new T-Bars place your controls higher than your stock bars, you may need extension kits for the cables, lines, and wiring.
