Harley Header Pipes

Whether it’s true duals, 2-into-1, or crossovers, your Harley’s headers play an important role. For optimal performance, the diameter, length, and shape of the pipes need to match the other components installed on the engine. If high performance mods are made to the engine, high performance head pipes will need to be installed to see the maximum results. Longer pipes work better for street riding and low-end torque applications. On the other hand, shorter and wider pipes are more suited for high-rpm, race situations. True duals are often desired, but the true benefits of them are really only seen on the drag strip.

Your Harley head pipes are a great focal point for style as well. You can completely alter the look of your bike by going with an alternate pipe configuration. The finish of the pipes varies as well. You have the choice between a polished finish or a matte black. Pairing your head pipes with the proper slip-on mufflers is important. Some headers will work with your stock slip-ons, but many will not. You will need to pair them with that brand’s mufflers.
