  • Full Face- This tried and true style is the best option for someone looking for the most coverage and protection. The complete shield and the fixed chin guard offer the most protection against the cold and a crash. Many riders find that a Full Face will work in almost all riding conditions.
  • MX/Snocross- The more aggressive rider will benefit from the shape of the MX style snowmobile helmet. When combined with a quality pair of snow goggles, the wider field of vision allows you to see more to be able to make sharp and fast maneuvers confidently. There is also more ventilation to allow you to be more active without worrying about sweat and fog build up.
  • Modular- The modular takes on the same profile as the full face, but has the added benefit of having a chin bar that can be lifted. This is a great feature for touring riders who make frequent stops to talk, drink and look at maps. It allows easy access to your face, without having to remove the helmet.

Quick Tips: Features of a Good Snowmobile Helmet

Breath Guard- Having a breath guard/deflector in your snowmobile helmet will help keep moisture off of your face shield. The guard should be able to mold to your face and deflect all of your breath down and out the helmet. Electric Shield- If fogging has become a big issue, look towards a helmet with an electric shield. The heating elements will eliminate the fog in most situations and can be wired to your sled's electrical system. Ventilation- The more ventilation there is, the more clean air can circulate through the helmet to remove moisture. A good option will have adjustable ventilation to fine-tune the airflow.
