Man, I really, really like my Fatty Highway bars. I'm actually on my second bar because a buddy of mine laid my bike down a while ago. The bar got pretty scratched up and was bent but the bike was virtually untouched (the ends of the pipes got a little scraped, but the whole side of the bike avoided damage:)
So anyway, my buddy bought me a new bar and the bike looks just like it did before. I bought it from Dennis Kirk because it was the cheapest price+shipping I could find.
One more thing.. I understand the Fatty's might not be for any bike, but I love the larger size because it really looks beefy and tough, just how I think it should look.
I recently ordered the Cobra Fatty Bar online and received an email shortly stating when I would receive it. It arrived when they said it would. I installed the bar with relative ease, although a couple more drawings could make it a little more informative. This bar really set my bike off! I added some highway pegs from Dennis Kirk also and WOW! What a difference in looks and comfort! This was a great buy and money well spent for me. I would recommend this product to anyone wanting to chrome out their ride.
I bought these bars because they are beefy. However I didn't know that they didn't bolt directly to the frame. I have a 07 1600 vulcan. The top is bolted around the frame using a bracket. They are not an easy install. The back piece of this bracket is actually touching the radiator on both sides. So I guess I will have to keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn't start rubbing through. DK was almost $40 cheaper than any other place I looked at. If I had it to do all over again I would not buy these bars.
I was going to buy from someone else but thought they were on the computer in their basement trying to sell stuff stacked in their garage. Bought from Dennis Kirk, had a question about fitment and got great help from customer service. The highway bars were here in two days and on my bike in 20 minutes. They look great. Thanks.

I bought the fatty freeway bar for my Husbands Yamaha V star 1300 touring its a 07. A lot of people said, they wouldn't look right... But, am I glad I did.. They were easy to put on and they really make that bike stand out. My husband was so, happy with them. He loves his bike because its short and fat, all black and we are starting to chrome it out.. Boy I would recommend these to anyone. Don't be afraid to put them on. my husband and my son did it in about a hour, and for this bike we didn't use any of the parts that came with it. We used all the parts that were on the bike. I can't say enough about the look. sorry I can't put a pic on line yet but, it will be coming.
I decided on the fatty after reading another review here and agree that the extra diameter makes it look all that much better and beefier. Word of advice though is that most pegs and such are geared for 1 1/4 not the 1 1/2 diameter.. However the brackets for the foot pegs were available through Dennis Kirk.. Also mounted lights on it - just so much more flexibility.
Oh yeah, installation was a breeze - 10 minutes. I do recommend attaching the upper bolt where the horn goes first, then position the bottom ones, the instructions suggest the opposite.
This bar looks really cool on my V Star 1300. It was very difficult to install all bolts. Even broke one off in frame on bottom mount. I think it was the Loc stuff they put on it. I could not tell it was tight because once the Loc stuff hit the threads it was nothing but a fight. Got the broke bolt out and the one I bought went right back in by hand. Clean that Loc stuff off and use your own. I also replaced the top bolts with stainless steel.
this is a replacement due to i had to drop my bike to avoid hitting a car this bar saved lots of damage to my bike it took 99 percent of the damage only scratching it up Ireceived little injeries the bar kept the bike from pinning me between it and the road THIS IS A MUST HAVE ITEM.
I have VTX1300C and put on the Lindby Linbar. In fairness, they don't claim they are crash bars, and they aren't. They would collapse in a second if the bike goes down. I bought them because they really look awesome. All that changed this past weekend, when a bike in front of me went down and slid about 25'. The bike has the Cobra Freeway bars. The bike suffered absolutely no damage, it slid on the highway bar in the front, and the leather saddle bag in the back. This bar saved the guys bike, and saved his leg #maybe more than just his leg#. I always wished the Linby bar was stronger, but is really just isn't, I ordered the Cobra bar and it will be on the bike within a week ! Don't compromise with highway bars, get good ones.
Bars look great on the bike. Installation was not to difficult, I installed them alone, a second set of hand would help a little. Top first, bottom right then bottom left. Don't tighten anything until all bolts are started. Bottom bolts are to long, I reused the bottom bolts. Locktite to keep them in place. Lots of compliments on how good they look.
Great addition to my V Star 1300 Deluxe. Gives it a more aggressive look and was a straightforward install. Follow the directions, use a towel to protect your front fender and you'll have these installed in about an hour. The upper bolts were tight, but just be patient and you can work them in place. Dennis Kirk's price was great with free shipping included! I had them in 3 days and installed on the weekend. Love these Fattys!
As other reviewers have said -"Really look nice on my VTX 1300C. The size (1 1/2" diameter) compliments the style of the VTX." Chrome plating is awesome! Took me about 20 minutes to install the bars by myself and I don't think that having another person to assist would make a difference. Very easy installation. I gave 4 stars for "fit" and 4 for style because the bars tend to be very close to the rear brake pedal when installed. A half inch to an inch more clearance would have made a big difference to me, as I plan to purchase "Desert Dawgs" soft lowers and the brake pedal will hit the lowers when depressed as it is right now. I'll have to see if I can adjust the brake pedal to try to avoid this from happening. I'm still very happy with the "Fatties" overall.
