Very Good Purchase
About Dennis Kirk:
I made the purchase Oct20, and had to wait on UPS over the weekend, but that's to be expected. Got it on the 25th. I got a really cheap price- $172... it's funny to me(probably not so much to you :-), but now it's like $191- it went up fast. Anyway, $191 is still a great price on a Shoei. I did a little research beforehand and went from thinking Amazon's $330 was the best price, and then Ebay's $230-280 was the best. Then I found Dennis Kirk. What a ridiculously cheap price I got. I'm not rolling in dough, so a low price is very important to me. I'm still finding it hard to believe that I was able to get such a fine helmet for so little money. They have a really easy return process too. They give you a couple of options, and it's pretty easy. I'm putting Dennis Kirk at the head of the line from now on when it comes to buying stuff bike-related. I don't know why they are willing to give such a good deal on their closeouts. I guess that's why the prices went up a little? Anyway, that price got my attention, and it earned DK a place in my shopping mind.
Now for the helmet, it's the Shoei TZ-R. It's said to be an entry-level, or low end Shoei. You would have to be a lot more knowledgeable in helmets than me to know that. It doesn't seem like a cheap helmet. I had tried on helmets at the local shop, but they didn't have Shoeis, so I wasn't sure how this one would fit. I got the xxl, and I was afraid that it would be too big, cause I was originally thinking an xl would do. But it feels great- snug, but not too tight. The cheeks are tight, but they say the pads will conform to my face in short time, so no problem there. I used to have a little half helmet. This full face Shoei just about killed the wind noise. I can still hear my bike, but it's an older Evo Harley, so ymmv. The shield is perfect in function and clarity. Overall, I couldn't be happier with this helmet.
