Like it or not, electronic devices have become a part of our lives. There’s a contingency of riders who refuse to include them into their riding experience. But for many other riders, having these devices readily available adds to their experience. Benefits include having directions at your fingertips, music streaming to your headset, and the ability to make hands free calls on the ride.

One of the issues many riders have, though, is securely mounting their phone or other device to their motorcycle. A common fear is having the phone fall off during the ride. You also don’t want a holder that is clunky and takes up a bunch of space. Klock Werks set out to solve those issues with their new line of IO mounts.

The Klock Werks IO mounts utilize ultra strong magnetic interfaces to secure your device. The result is a low-profile, very effective mounting system. Klock Werks makes their IO mounts for a wide variety of situations. For Harley and motorcycle riders, choose the perch mounts, riser mounts, or dash mounts. Offroad riders can use their roll cage, rocker switch, or steering column mounts. Klock Werks even makes IO mounts for around the house, which are great when you’re watching a how-to video in the garage.

To start, all you need to do is attach the included IOadapt stainless steel adapter to the back of your device. This thin metal plate is what the magnet on the mount attaches to. The adhesive on the back takes a full day to cure, but once it’s on, it’s really on. The IOadapt plate will work with any other Klock Werks IO mount so you can easily transfer your device between machines and mounts in your garage.

Next, just attach IO mount to your motorcycle. Next place the IOcore magnetic adapter on the mount. Installation is straightforward for all their options. Just follow their included instructions.

The IO mounts will work with just about any device, though there are some caveats. Klock Werks recommends not attaching large devices like tablets to your motorcycle or UTV, though their at home mounts are more than capable of holding tablets. They also recommend not attaching the IOadapt discs to any silicone cases. The adhesive will hold extremely well on plastic, but can struggle with silicone.

A lot of riders may not trust the level of security provided by a magnet. Fear not. These mounts have been put through the ringer and have securely held devices. But just in case you’re still a little skeptical, Klock Werks does include a tether that can be attached to your device case for a little peace of mind.
