As we continue on with our interview series from the 2023 Hay Days, we catch up with the guys from 509. The 509 booth has become a fixture at Hay Days over the years. Their booth was impressive this year with the setup, size, and of course, the products. 509 always has innovative products to show off at Hay Days. This year, the Delta V Commander full face helmet was a big show stopper for them. Listen to the interview to learn more about that helmet and then head over to DK to see the Delta V for yourself. Tyrus: Hey, I’m Tyrus. I’m here in the 509 booth. I’m here with:
David: David McKinney.
Andy: Andy Berg.
Tyrus: The season’s just around the corner. What uh, what are you guys most excited for?
David: Well I mean, as always we’re like super, super pumped for winter. Hay Days is the official kickoff of that. I’m originally from Minnesota. I haven’t missed the Hay Days in 20 years now. But yeah, we got a lot of cool new products here. I know one of our big pieces that Andy here played a massive role in is this awesome looking Delta V Commander sitting right here. And with all respect Andy I trust you explaining these awesome features better than I do.
Andy: We can do that. We can do that. Yes, the Delta V is our newest full face helmet we have for trail riders. So, you know, probably the biggest helmet we wanted to bring the Hay Days. Show off to this awesome fan base we have here. Probably the coolest thing about this helmet is our partnership with Cardo Communications. Cardo Communications is the, you know, communications leader in powersports globally. We took the Cardo Communications and actually built them into this helmet. It’s not just a slap on bolt on piece. It’s now just integrated fully this helmet. It has its own wire harness. We have left and right controls. Both for volume, making and accepting calls, listening to music, just everything you can really need on a trail. So that’s the, probably the coolest piece about this helmet. We still have our maximum field of view. We have aerodynamics. We have Venturi venting system. All you can see on our our website and learn about more.
Tyrus: And, this is my first Hay Days. So I just like to throw that out there: what is it that brings you guys back every year?
David: Yeah, I mean, there’s the people. It’s so fun. Everybody’s like-minded. So right off the bat, whoever you run into, you have a common interest of snowmobiling and powersports. And then if you’ve never been to Hay Days before, you’ve got to experience the swaps. It’s a, it’s kind of a lawless place out there.
Tyrus: We wandered it for a little bit.
David: Yeah no, but uh, yeah, like I said it’s just kind of a second home here. You kind of know… you get to know a lot of people. You see a lot of repeats. You meet people that you only see here once a year and it’s a great place to kick off winter.
