There are certain brand names that just carry more weight than others. Think Brembo for brakes, Yuasa for batteries, and S&S for engine components. For suspension, Öhlins carries that same weight and respect. Riders looking for race quality performance are rarely disappointed when they equip their motorcycle with an Öhlins shock setup.
In the race world, Öhlins is trusted by some of the top riders in the business. But you can attain the same benefits when you install their street line of shocks and suspension components to your own motorcycle, whether it’s a touring bike, cruiser, or ADV bike.
Öhlins produces a wide range of shocks, but one of their most popular lines is the STX36 shocks. The STX36 shocks provide a solid upgrade over stock but are still available at a reasonable and attainable price point for any serious rider. Not only will you notice improved shock absorption, but when dialed in, your handling can be greatly improved over stock as well.
The STX36 shocks may not a radical new design in shock technology, but Öhlins just does it better than most. These shocks are build with a classic monotube design and uses emulsion technology that is nitrogen charged. They are fully serviceable and repairable, which helps to prolong the lifespan of these shocks. The hard anodized- precision CNC machined components will also aid in the dependability and durability of these shocks.
Preload is adjustable with an included Billet pin tool. You can also choose between multiple ranges of spring rates to really dial in your suspension for your particular setup. For those who want to be able to further dial in their setup on the fly, the STX Blackline shocks are also available in a Piggyback version.
