If you’ve been following the build process of this Harley-Davidson Anniversary FXLR, you’re probably just as excited as we are to see the finished product. (If you haven’t been, check out these updates to see where this build project started: Announcement, Update One, Update Two.) Well, wait no more. This past week, Paul Yaffe and Dennis Kirk unveiled the final build during Daytona Bike Week.
In 1993, Harley released just 800 of these Anniversary FXLR motorcycles. They have become a hot commodity for collectors. This bike happens to be bike #442 off the line. What most collectors out there won’t find with other ’93 FXLRs is the meticulous restoration that went into this build. Paul stripped the bike down to nuts and bolts and restored every piece with his expert precision.
Of course, along the way, Paul had to make some customizations to make it truly a Paul Yaffe Original. Nothing crazy was customized and Paul was adamant that everything he touched on this bike was period correct. Part of that was chroming many of the parts out. A Thunderheader exhaust system was added for a classic Harley sound and look. Arlen Ness Stealth mirrors and quarter fairing are not stock but work beautifully on this build, especially with the color match paint job.
The best part about this bike build is that we’re giving it away! There’s no hoops to go through. No special requirements. No purchase necessary. All you have to do is enter your name and contact info. Head over to Dennis Kirk’s Contest Page to enter! The contest runs until 10/1/23, so you have time, but why wait? Get entered and you may be riding into fall on your very own Paul Yaffe Original Harley FXLR.
