Motorcycle Maintenance – Preparing For Sturgis

Posted on 19 Jul 2013 in Powersports | 0 comments

Picture if you will, the air is crisp and clean, your engine is running as smooth as ever, you can stop on a dime and when the sun goes down your headlights are brightly lighting the road for you as you ride back to the hotel after an awesome day of carving up the road on your way out to see the Crazy Horse Memorial.

Unfortunately, you’ve been very busy lately. Your engine is getting no air, your air filter is packed with dirt and dragonflies. Your poor old V-twin is barely getting enough oil to keep things lubed (think molasses in January), cause your oil filter has enough dirt in it to plant tomatoes. CRAP… there’s a buffalo in the road just as you’re coming around a corner. Bet you wish you had some new brake pads and rotors right about now! Of course that doesn’t matter because with your dim old lights you never saw the beast anyways.

As Drysen suggests in the video, now would be a great time to make sure your air filter, oil filter, brakes and rotors and lighting needs are up to snuff.

Motorcycle maintenance is something we take very seriously here at Dennis Kirk, that’s why we carry all the things you and your bike will need for your trip out to the 73rd Annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. So don’t delay, there is not much time left. August 5th is just around the corner, but with our fast shipping you’ll have your new lights in time and both you and mister buffalo can have a great time!

Love technology, writing, and spending time on the water in the summer. I have been messing about with computers and various systems since Y2K was la fin du monde.
