As some of you already know, Dennis Kirk is the presenting sponsor for an annual event called the Patriot Ride. Every year thousands of riders gather to show support for Minnesota’s military, veterans, and their families in this 60 mile charity ride. In honor of this event we thought we would share the patriotic spirit with our online community with a new contest.
We all have people we look up to and admire, people we call our heroes. In this contest we want to hear your story about your motorcycle riding hero. It could be a veteran, a family member, a friend, or even a stranger you look up to. Tell us about this motorcyclist and why they are your hero. It doesn’t have to be someone who has served in the military, we just want to hear about riders you admire.
What do you win?
1st Place – AFX FX-70 Black Flag Beanie Helmet
2nd Place – Pro Pad Square Sissy Bar Flag Mount
3rd Place – Official 2012 Patriot Ride T-shirt

Thanks Heron! Who is your motorcycle riding hero?
I would have to say my uncle. I was 13 and he bought me my first bike. It was a 1972 Honda Elsinore 250 it was in 1979. He would take me every weekend out to the dirt trails and that’s where I learned the love of being on the bike. A few years ago I got to thank him in the ultimate way. He was a Vietnam vet and I got to ride with the patriot guards at his funeral.
We appreciate your uncle’s service! Thanks for sharing your touching story. Be sure to head over to the official contest page here: https://www.facebook.com/dennis.kirk.fb/app_95936962634 to enter.
