Raider Vintage Snowmobile Parts

Raider snowmobiles, the brainchild of Robert Bracey are instantly recognizable. The rear engine, twin tracked sleds with a cockpit were introduced to offer a different kind of riding experience on a snowmobile. Bracey felt that regular snowmobiles were too tippy and required too much effort to ride. Bracey had experience building race cars and transferred that knowledge to building his Raider snowmobiles. From 1971 to 1975, Raider snowmobiles provided a truly unique option for riders who wanted to be on the snow but didn’t want the traditional format. Raiders featured both CCW, Hirth and Kohler engines for power, depending on the model and year. The Hawk, Eagle and Double Eagle have all become legendary sleds and always draw a crowd at vintage shows and rides. In the end, due in part to a poor snow season and Bracey leaving the company, Raider did not survive the 70’s, like many of the manufacturers of the time. In all, it is estimated that there were about 20,000 Raider snowmobiles produced.
