There are a few reasons you might want to replace your dirt bike fuel tank. One is because it’s cracked and leaking. The other is that the capacity just isn’t enough for your long trail rides. Larger tanks are increasingly popular with dual sport and enduro riders. When you’re out in the middle of nowhere, you don’t want to worry about running out of fuel. Some minor modifications might need to be made with a large capacity tank, but for the most part, these tanks will mount right up. Brands like Acerbis and IMS produce solid tanks that can take the abuse of serious offroad riding.

To seal up your tank, you need a solid gas cap. Aftermarket caps made from billet aluminum are much stronger than a stock cap. They also look nice with custom machined looks. Plastic caps that directly replace OEM caps are just as good as the stock offering.

A leaky or broken petcock/fuel valve can ruin a day of riding fast. Your dirt bike will be starved of fuel and will struggle to run if it does at all. Installing aftermarket petcocks is often an easy task but can make a world of a difference.
