2020 CG HAWK

What was your intended objective when you started the build?

I wanted an alternative to having to get in my Chevy truck all the time to go in local errands.

A 300 pound easy to weave in and out of traffic vehicle with a way to carry stuff safely.

What motivated you to start your project?

Hawks are cheap to buy new, but terribly under powered.

Thanks to Aliexpress, and Amazon they are cheap to fix up !

What was the most unique and creative thing you did to the bike?

My first addition was a Goldwing trunk that I mounted with 4 bolts on to the flat on the rear grab handles.

Second, Harley Softtail hard saddlebag support frame, and two lockable side cases.

What are you most proud of?

Much wider alloy rims I laced to the original hubs and spokes to give stability and better handling.

A Zongshen true 250 overhead cam 6 speed engine with street gearing electric start and no kick start to get in the way.

What do other people say about your motorcycle?

One fellow who owns a KTM rode it.

He said afterwards, “That bike has heart!”
