What was your intended objective when you started the build?

Build a cool bike that I could be proud of.

What motivated you to start your project?

Always wanted a hardtail chopper with a shovel engine.

What was the most unique and creative thing you did to the bike?

Modified the gas tank and the remote oil filter.

What are you most proud of?

That it’s actually roadworthy and performs as it should.

What do other people say about your motorcycle?

That it’s got a nice stance and it looks put together well.

Make, Model & Year: 2012 Custom Shovelhead
Fondly known as: Hardtail shovel
Time spent: 4 years on and off
Motorcycle cost: $15-16000
Money spent: $15-16000
Engine: All S&S 93″ shovelhead built by my hometown independent mechanic.
Intake: S&S shorty E carburetor
Exhaust: Shovelhead head pipe cut down and modified with an angled trumpet muffler 5
Transmission: 5 speed softail transmission
Frame: Craftec frame 34 degrees with a 4″ stretch
Suspension: Wideglide frontend with a hardtail rear
Wheels, tires and brakes: 21″ front 80 spoke with stock harley brake with aftermarket rotor, 180 rear 80 spoke wildwood caliper. Venom tires.
Finish – Paint: Black rattle can on frame, bare metal on tins with rattle can clear.
Accessories: 12″ apes stock switches and grips
