2009 Custom Build Kraftech

What was your intended objective when you started the build?

I wanted to build a more powerful and better handling version of my 1983 FXSB Shovelhead without having to modify the bike, so I started with a Kraftech FX style frame and started to build an additional bike and keep the 83 the way it was. Great excuse to add another bike to my garage.

What motivated you to start your project?

Always wanted to build a bike with all my favorite parts combined into one special bike.

What was the most unique and creative thing you did to the bike?

The rear fender extension, which keeps road grime from hitting the back of the oil tank, has a Montana shaped mudflap which shows my home state pride. I also built my own surface mount LED blinkers built into the handle bars.

What are you most proud of?

The performance, braking and overall handling of the bike make it fun to ride.

What do other people say about your motorcycle?

  1. Most of them are wondering what year and model of Harley it is and then want to know who painted it.
