2008 Harley Davidson FLHP

What was your intended objective when you started the build?

Just to make the motorcycle road worthy, safe, and hopefully easier on the eyes.

What motivated you to start your project?

My Ram 1500 took a dump in my front yard about 2 years ago, so I got a ride to my friends motorcycle dealership to see if he could help. Told my friend Marshall that I only had $2800 cash and the pickle I was in. He couldn’t do much, but he did have this old Road King cruiser that was parked in the back. Ugliest motorcycle I had ever seen, but it ran and I had to get to work. So it began! Marshall sold it to me for $2500 and I rode it home and cleaned it up. Not too bad, and it was my only transportation until I got the Ram fixed. After my Ram was fixed, I took it upon myself to rebuild this old motorcycle. It has taken some time and money, but I really have learned to love and respect this motorcycle. I have put stage 2 kit on; as well as new electrical, brake system, lighting, seat, and controls. Recently painted the motorcycle and am now starting the rebuild on the primary and transmission.

What was the most unique and creative thing you did to the bike?

I think the paint and rock light kit I installed are extra unique for an ’08 Harley Davidson Road King Police Edition. Chrome didn’t hurt any either.

What are you most proud of?

I believe I could ride this monster across the country with minor, if any, issues! 56000 miles on it, and I’ve rebuilt so much now that I trust it like a new motorcycle.

What do other people say about your motorcycle?

Have been told it sounds awesome and when I twist the throttle a little that I’m gone into the sunset. Recently I have received a few compliments on the paint job, but I still have the rear fender to do. My friends ask me about every month, when they see the motorcycle, if it is the same bike!
