2007 Harley Davidson FXD SuperGlide

What was your intended objective when you started the build?

I was looking to take an “old man Harley” and turn it into a club-style bike, but with a twist. There are countless examples of blacked out club-style bikes. I wanted something different.

What motivated you to start your project?

I’ve been riding motorcycles for a long time. I got my first dirt bike at 13 and have consistently owned either dirt or street bikes since. I fell in love with Harleys when a deal came up on a Sportster. It didn’t take long to realize I wanted more. I knew my dream bike was a Dyna. A few months later, I finally got my Dyna. A 2007 FXD SuperGlide. I purchased it from an old man that took good care of it and kept the bike completely stock. Piece by piece I started building the bike my way. About a year later, it’s come a long way and I’m extremely pleased with what it looks like so far. Still not done yet!

What was the most unique and creative thing you did to the bike?

Instead of removing all the chrome, throwing a fairing on, and installing T-Bars, I decided to let the factory red paint, chrome accents, and blonde motor do the talking. I chose parts to highlight and accent those colors and continue with that theme.

What are you most proud of?

I’m most proud that I’ve been able to work on this bike myself. I’ve spend countless hours in the garage installing parts and making tweaks to get things just right. It’s been a learning experience and I’ve loved every minute.

What do other people say about your motorcycle?

They really like the red. It’s far less common to see a bike like this, built into a club-ish style bike.
