2002 Harley-Davidson FLSTS

What was your intended objective when you started the build?

Initially, eliminate the Spring tensioned cam chains.

What motivated you to start your project?

Checked the cam chain tensioners and found them worn. So…..I decided to upgrade. After S&S gear drive cams, 88 to 100 in³ kit, heads, intake, Dynatek ignition module, a fresh pair of Super Trapp slip-on mufflers and a carb tuned by Bob Wood of Woods Performance, I was good to go.

What was the most unique and creative thing you did to the bike?

Snuck the multiple S&S boxes past my wife to the shop.

What are you most proud of?

Took a while to sort out, but it’s now a street able Softail that will surprise some people.

What do other people say about your motorcycle?

That’s a 2000? Wow!
