2001 Harley Davidson Dyna Wide Glide

I wanted to build a tribute bike for my Dad. James Earon Quebodeaux. I bought a basket case form a friend who needed to sell it because he was moving out of state. It was supposed to be a cheap bike for him to fix up and flip for a profit. I jumped on the chance to buy it and immediately tore it down to the frame and began working. I took me three years of horse trading to round up enough parts to get it where I wanted it. I did a top end 95”, ported heads and a mild 211 set of cams. Of course I put a new oil pump and rebuilt the cam plate with the help of a mechanic friend. I changed the front end and put a pro1 set of trees and did some custom machinery to eliminate the fork tube caps. I already had Arlen ness lowers but didn’t have the correct brake calipers. So I bought a chunk of aircraft aluminum and did some trading with a machinist who made an adapter to accommodate the stock Harley caliper that came off of a wrecked street glide. Months went by and I scored a set of police wheels, pulled the bearings, blasted and painted them black. New wheels, new bearings and many late nights I’m on my way. One night I decided on the paint while talking to my wife and that’s when I decided to make it a tribute to my Dad! My dad was a salt of the earth kind of guy. He always rode bikes. He rode Indians, pan heads back in the late 50’s early 60’s. I have many memories of me riding on his tank, wind in my face and the overwhelming feeling of me flying. I must have been 4 or 5 at the time. Ever since then I’ve been literally addicted to anything involving motorcycles. My rode and loved motorcycles but never called himself a “Biker “. My dad was a mechanic, blacksmith and all round do it yourself kind of guy. He always told me that if you can’t buy it then build it or do without. This bike has a few hand made and custom made parts that were dreamed up by me working late nights not being able to find or afford what I had in my mind. This bike is built I’m memory of my Father, mentor and friend James Earon Quebodeaux 1940 – 2011. RIP

The rear fender was reshaped, a lot of metal work and custom fiberglass work for the custom tail light. I reshaped the top of rear fender with 50’s style accents all made by shaping metal. Custom front brake caliper bracket designed by me and built a machinist friend. The paint is all done by me. It’s a textured design that reminds me of my dad and the western belt he used to wear.
