2001 Buell Blast

What was your intended objective when you started the build?

To just have a bike for him to ride.

What motivated you to start your project?

Wanted to do something together with my kid, so we bought a wreaked bike to fix up and build together.

What was the most unique and creative thing you did to the bike?

The frame was totally bent and the front end was toast. Because of the crash, the motor mount was also broken so a bolt was broken off deep in the head, so we had to take it off to fix it. Since it was off, we polished and ported the head, upgraded the carb, intake and exhaust (D&D pipe) to include a better air filter than the ugly restricted original.

What are you most proud of?

The bike is great, but just that we did it together and we were able to take it on its maiden ride to the coast on a family ride was the coolest thing.

What do other people say about your motorcycle?

They dont know what it is and definitely freak out when we fire it up. Guys who race flat know the sound of a single thumper as they call it.
