I decided that my bike could lose some weight and slim down. Some of my older friends that still ride have gotten new bikes and asked why I haven’t. I love my bike and say just that. I’m not fickle. and believe that my bike has my personality. It has undergone changes just like I have. I’m turning 72 soon and have tried to maintain a positive perspective as I grow older.
After riding and enjoying my bike for several years as seen in the “Before” foto, I felt I was ready for a fresh look. I love my bike but didn’t just want to go out and buy another bike.
My bike got streamlined and took on another feel and newer look. I tried to show my appreciation for old school choppers that I admired growing up. The exhaust I chose (upswept fish tails) is part of my childhood, the baby apes I think is a cool touch. I chose to keep the color traditional; a basic simple black. No flames, metal flake or murals. My goal was to personalize what I ride while keeping it comfortable and fun to ride.
My budget was kept in line with the plan made. Once started, the project flowed non-stop without delays, as the parts (at least most of them) were purchased in advance. With very little downtime, my mechanic made the build I envisioned.
People that look and have something to say have always complimented the bike. No one has ever criticized the bike or the look I went for. The stance and set-up consistently gets thumbs up.
