1983 Honda Nighthawk

What was your intended objective when you started the build?

A scrambler build.

What motivated you to start your project?

Old age. I’m a disabled military veteran. I have been looking for

productive hobbies… “idle hands” they say. This is the ô€‹¡rst time in my

life at 53 that I took on a project like this. I’ve never actually tore a

bike down this far to build it into something that would make it my

own build per se? We’ll see what Kimchi looks like when she’s

finished? I’ve sanded the stock tank down to bare metal. It was that

ugly faded candy wine berry red. I’m trying to go for a flat track

street tracker build with a DOHC 750! So I’ve been trying to jettison

weight and get rid of 1980 gaudy gauges seat chrome and plastics. I

ordered a murrays carbs, 4 into 1 mad exhaust, clutch kit and springs

and gasket set.

What was the most unique and creative thing you did to the bike?

Ordered custom made 4 into 1 mad exhaust and Murray’s Carb.

What are you most proud of?

The fact that I even delved into it and started taking things off and

doing my own to it in the first place!? We’ll see what the end result

looks like!?

What do other people say about your motorcycle?

“That’ll it’ll never get finished or put back together.” “It’s ugly and

dated.” Making fun of how they would paint it. Etc, etc, etc.
