I knew this was going to take some time considering I had all my fabrication tools, welders and mechanics tools in a storage unit I was a prototype fabricator of main frames and sheet metal products for the semiconductor industry I traded some of my shovelhead parts to get a big Honda generator to run my welders and air compressor before I started this project I had won $9500.00 at Chuckchansi gold resort and casino so I got started I had a wide drive aftermarket softail frame that I fabricated my shovelhead neck onto my wide drive frame reason why so I wouldn’t have to re-register my bike CHP told me I had to have the MSO papers for proof of motor/transmission I cut parts welded and grid thing to a prefect fit I put my motor from Ultima in and out of the frame hundreds of times to make sure things would fit put in a square motor 4 1/4 X 4 1/4 120 inch polished motor frame needed cut here and there so things would bolt up my main plan was to make things come apart east if I had brake downs I cut the fender stunt’s off the frame and welded them to the rear fender reason why if I had a flat tire i didn’t want the fender to be in the way found a pair of wrecked chrome strut’s fabricated them to fit and had re-chromed made my own seat pan along with everything for this ride after being in San Jose all those years I knew where to go to get things done at this time my money was tight paying all my bills some months didn’t have money to buy things I needed so all in all I took all the parts to get power coated where the company I worked for making parts for the semiconductor industry which I had known did everything from frame, fenders, gas tanks everything at this time it was coming to the end of spraying lacquer paint found a guy that had his own paint store he hooked me up with all the House of Kolors that I needed I sprayed over all my power coated parts so in the end this build took me about 4 years to complete all my friends couldn’t wait to see it when I was done my build from the ground up everything done by one man only which I was told by many people not to many guys out there do that anymore
At the time I was living in San Jose ca lived there for 31 years I rode my 81 shovelhead sense the mid 80’s starter never worked so kick started all those years new rides would have a funny look on their faces while they watched I custom my shovel 2 times but back in the 90’s Calif up their speed limits on the freeway’s and I wanted to keep up so this is where I started thinking about my build from the ground up!
Everything I did was unique the whole build from V-ing the front down tubes to fender strut’s just everything
The whole bike from start to finish
It’s awesome and bad ass and hauls ass
It took some time but things in San Jose where tough biting my build the cost of every day living in San Jose is expensive as hell
