1981 Harley Davidson FXS

What was your intended objective when you started the build?

My main objective when starting this build was to put together a clean, (semi)reliable shovelhead chopper that is fun to ride.

What motivated you to start your project?

After putting together my first Sportster chopper I was hooked. When I ran across a good deal on a 1981 shovelhead in my area, I sold the Sportster to fund this build.

What was the most unique and creative thing you did to the bike?

Jordan and the crew at Union Speed and Style did all the heavy lifting while straightening the stock 1981 FXS frame and fabricating a hardtail rear section with cast axle plates to give the bike a factory looking geometry with matching VIN numbers on the frame and engine cases.

What are you most proud of?

I am most proud of how clean this bike looks and how fun it is to ride.

What do other people say about your motorcycle?

People tend to say that it looks much older than it actually is.
