1981 Harley Davidson FLH

What was your intended objective when you started the build?

have an old school daily driver that would have an authentic feel

What motivated you to start your project?

I ride cross country often on my FLHXS. as i would traverse huge swaths of the us and Canada i would often fantasize about a more authentic motorcycle experience. My street glide offers so many comforts for a cross country trip but was it making be soft hahaha!! On one of these trips i ran into a guy from Scotland who had built and shipped his FLH to the us to ride all of the National Parks. I fell in love with the shovelhead motor the sound the feel was amazing.when my local HD dealer called me and said they had a classic FLH on the floor i dropped everything and went to test drive it.The feel of that old underpowered 80 ci Shovel Head and all 4 gears in the trans made me fall in love! i purchased the bike and immediately went to work making it mine. I had the resident classics mechanic at my local HD shop do some of the work as well.

What was the most unique and creative thing you did to the bike?

i love the kicker

What are you most proud of?

i love how this bike turned out

What do other people say about your motorcycle?

i always get stopped on rides. people  always want to know what the bike was originally and are always shocked to find out it was a Touring bike originally
