What was your intended objective when you started the build?

To build as nice a bike as we could and have some fun working together and coming up with ideas.

What motivated you to start your project?

I wanted to have a nice bobber and work on a bike project with my father. We have built some other British bikes so we decided on a BSA.

What was the most unique and creative thing you did to the bike?

Lots of different fabricated pieces. Front forks probably the most creative thing we built. Used triumph lowers and bsa fork shrouds that had to be extended with bsa rear shock covers to make them long enough. Also custom installed 6 over hard tail.

Specifics

Make, Model & Year: 1966 BSA Lighting
Time spent: 1.5 years
Engine: 1971 BSA lightning engine. Taken completely apart and rebuilt. Port and polished. Single carb thunderbolt head. 4 spring racing clutch.
Intake: Stock bsa single carb intake
Exhaust: Drag pipes with kick ups with custom extensions and turnouts.
Transmission: 4 speed
Frame: 1966 BSA thunderbolt with 6 over hard tail.
Wheels, tires and brakes: Front wheel is a 21in Harley wheel so we had to custom make an axle to fit the triumph lowers. Rear wheel is a triumph 19 inch. Rear drum brake.
Finish – Paint: Paint is all gloss black with Harley metal flake blue on the tank.
