Motorcycle Grip Corkscrew & Other Unique Designs

Many of you might remember the motorcycle grip corkscrew that we posted on our Facebook page awhile ago. We did a little research and found that this unique corkscrew was the product of a challenge issued to some Product Design degree students by Triumph and the Birmingham City University’s Institute of Art and Design in 2010. The task they were given was to use parts from a Triumph Bonneville T100 to create items you would typically use in your household.

The result was some truly innovative motorcycle-inspired items that any bike enthusiast would be proud to display in their home.

Upper left – The winning piece was a corkscrew made from brake lever, master cylinder and handlebar grip by Nick Orme.
Upper right – The second place winner was this fruit bowl made from spokes from a T100 wheel by Wa Ya-Lin.
Lower left – Another cool piece was this side table made from a Bonneville T100 Tank by Yueh-Han Huang.
Lower right – Imagine jamming out with this turntable made from a rear brake disk and cylinder head by Richard Underhill.
