2008 Yamaha Nytro

What was your intended objective when you started the build?

To show guys the nytro is not to be taken for granted, stock power in this machine is awesome

What motivated you to start your project?

Yamaha is always underestimated as a manufacturer, so I want everyone to know how bad ass the Nytro RTX can look and perform in Minnesota conditions, and elsewhere. With a 121 performance track, the 1.5 intense track works great for trails and deep powder it will rip it up

What was the most unique and creative thing you did to the sled?

Custom cut tunnel, short snow flap

What are you most proud of?

Yamaha pride, when I get it out, people appreciate what I’ve done to it, I’ve always let people rip it up, I let guys ride it to feel Yamaha power!!

What do other people say about your snowmobile?

Never seen mods like that! The sound is just awesome!!  Didn’t know a Yamaha can sound that cool

I don’t think Yamaha is an underestimated manufacturer. They build stellar powerplants but none of their sleds ever had the kind of handling or suspensions that their competition had. Everyone who knows anything about Yamaha could agree that they make really good engines that last and are for the most part, quite bulletproof. Beyond the cosmetic add-ons and the new skis…I bet the handling is still pretty bad. Split rails are the only things that I’ve seen that really fix Yamaha’s poor engineering of the Phazer and Nytro model sleds.

I agree that the original 2008 setup is not good but the C&A skis really make a difference in my opinion, maybe my particular sled is an exception but it run very well and hand warmers work perfectly, I have 4075 miles on this beast and I love it! Zero engine problems at all, but I the issue Yamaha guys face is the lack of parts 14 years later
