1966 Ski Doo Olympic

What was your intended objective when you started the build?

Restore it and make it a reliable sled on a budget I could afford, to use and have fun on

What motivated you to start your project?

I wanted a fun light simple sled to use for ice fishing, trapping and just for fun

What was the most unique and creative thing you did to the sled?

I completely tore it down and re painted it made the seat and overhauled the engine top and bottom, replaced the crankshaft, new bearings and seals, new piston and rings .010 over size pistons  new points and condenser also  new track drive and rear idle wheels

What are you most proud of?

Pretty much all of it, this was my first sled I have restored and it’s been very reliable and fun to ride, it’s not a perfect restoration but I use it for a utility sled so reliability is more important , my longest ride on it so far was from Stacy Mn to Rush City Mn and back , about 40 miles

What do other people say about your snowmobile?

I’ve had many compliments on it and won second place in Wisconsin  2019 in a show in  the 60’s restoration class ,  I think there were only two sleds in that class!
