I bought this sled in boxes. I wanted a good project to work on.
I always loved the looks of the RVs. But in 1978 Doo came out with the 6500 and a year later the 7500. I knew someday I would get one…..and I did.
The goal of a restoration was to get it back to original as close as possible. While not every part is “correct”, I think it came pretty close and only those enthusiasts with a sharp eye and knowledge can pick it apart.
I’m proud that I was able to bring a disassembled sled in boxes to a sled that is fit to be displayed.
Rather than keeping this sled hidden in my garage, a Ski-doo dealer offered to buy it with the stipulation that he wanted to display it and not resell it. It was sad to see it go but now others that walk into Hunters have the opportunity to see one of the most unique looking snowmobiles produced. I’m in the hunt for my next project sled.

Love that sled, I remember it well. Bought it new with trailer. Use to run up to northern Ontario with it and do the trails around Burks Falls
