I wanted a wide rear tire with a low to the ground stance. The color I wanted a Pontiac Burnt Orange Metallic from the original Pontiac Starfire built in the 80’s. Flat Fat Bob tanks and a hardtail frame. Also, I wanted the drive train and parts/accessories to be completely Ultima Parts from Ultima Products and a rear belt drive also ultima belt and rear sprocket. Ultima has a huge stock of bolt on parts and fantastic product support. In addition, I’ve always been a fan of Harley Softails but I wanted this to be a Hardtail with Softail parts i.e. oil tank, rear fender, gas tank.
I’m former Air Force Veteran and a Retired High School Teacher. One of the items on my “Retired Bucket List” was to build a Harley. When the COVID lockdown happened in 2020 I decided it was time to get off my ass and build my Chopper. Short and sweet, the COVID lockdown motivated me to start my build.
The paint color is the creative item on this build. Pontiac Burnt Orange Metallic with 3 coats of paint and 4 coats of clear. The wiring has no fuses or relays. I’m using a Motogadget Basic Fuse Box. The Motogadget is completely plug and ride. It does everything electrical.
The thing I’m most proud of is the Ultima engine and the weight to horsepower ratio. I wanted a fast bike so I watched the parts weight ratio. Full build the bike came in at 585Lbs. and puts out 120 HP. Also, now that I see I’m good at chopper builds I’ve started on my second build. It will be a 200 wide tire on a Softail swing arm frame with a 140 c.i. engine. This go round on the carb I’m going with a S&S Cycle Super G Carb
“Nice bike”…..”Every time I see this bike I want it….”Man you did do it”…”Lots of chrome…It’s beautiful”…”Holy Shit…you did it”…..”You built this…NO WAY”
