2009 Honda CMX250

What was your intended objective when you started the build?

I was determined to teach an old man that I could make a Honda Rebel cool, he said I was  an idiot.

What motivated you to start your project?

I had the bike from teaching my girlfriend, she was over it, and I had the itch…. one thing lead to another, I pulled out the grinder and it was downhill from there.

What was the most unique and creative thing you did to the bike?

Ha! – Cafe racer bars …on a Honda… pretending to be a sportster.

What are you most proud of?

That I kept to the spirit of the chop, I didn’t just get stuff shipped to my house and bolted it on. I made the whole thing out of parts I cut off the bike, or had laying around. I even ordered the seat out of a catalogue and waited a week for it to be delivered, straight 80s style.

What do other people say about your motorcycle?

Young people say – “cool sportster” because they are foolish.

Old guys say – “damn things a rebel?! Why did you do that?!”

My mother says – “seriously Zachary you are going to kill yourself on those things!”

So you know… I am clearly doing something right if they all agree with me….
