2005 Harley-Davidson Road King

What was your intended objective when you started the build?

I always wanted a custom blue bike to bring to sturgis. I want to be able to be seen and heard everywhere. For years I’ve wanted to build one and be proud of it.

What motivated you to start your project?

I’ve been riding and been around motorcycles for years. Since my son knew about bikes i have told him what I’ve always wanted for a motorcycle. Plus my mother always knew that i wanted to build a custom bike, so she helped push me into making it happen.

What was the most unique and creative thing you did to the bike?

The paint job on the bike probably the most unique. It is a one off, so i know noone will ever have the same color as mine. Also i put my bike in the Christmas parade and my mother put a ribbon on the front brace for my driving lights. So that is now a permanent fixture on the bike. What better of a guardian angel to have with me when i ride.

What are you most proud of?

I’m most proud of the entire build. Except for the paint job itself, i added everything to it. I built it myself. I took the tins off, brought them to the painter, and put them back on. So i can say i actually built it myself. Also my mom got to see me have the bike I’ve been dreaming about for years. When i went to buy the bike she was with me. She saw how happy i was to get it. Than over the years watch it transform into what it is now. She told me about her breast cancer and i vowed at that point to make sure she saw the bike become what it is. She saw me take it to sturgis last year and show off my creation. That makes me so proud of the work sweat and tears of building this bike.

What do other people say about your motorcycle?

Awesome color. Love the attention to detail. Wheels look great. Air ride is awesome. The black and chrome contrast is amazing. Looks great.
