1990 Harley Davidson FXR

What was your intended objective when you started the build?

A fast, reliable, great handling motorcycle I can ride long distances that still turns heads

What motivated you to start your project?

I was in the market for the new DYNA Low Rider S at the time. After discussion with a old time FXR ledgend (Tom Edison), we decided I could build a bike with more style, horsepower, better handling, and one of a kind rather then buying a cookie cutter black dyna. The “Old Soul Teaches Young Blood” project began. Tom drove me from California to Vegas to buy the bike.

What was the most unique and creative thing you did to the bike?

I work as a grip in the studios do I decided to Powdercoat the frame the same color as our tool carts we use on set.

What are you most proud of?

The amount of knowledge I gained, the people I meet, and landing my first engine in a frame.

What do other people say about your motorcycle?

Everyone tells me pictures don’t do it justice and there is some much more you see in person.

Love the bike. I just sold my Road Glide over the winter and have started on my 1989 FXR! I was so tired of seeing my FLTRXS at every traffic light. It was hard to be different and come up with my own flavor. I worked for HD for years and the discount was great but uncovering the mark ups was disgraceful. $800 for Day Maker’s was a joke. Like I said before, I spent crazy money to see my twin at every stoplight!! That has led me to my $3500 FXR!! I love your bike and everything you put into it. I wanted to ask you about your OEM Fairing and where you got it. Also want to pick your brain about your 111 you put in. Any advice for less headaches would be great. Be Safe!

You did an incredible job with your fxr. Looks nothing like the stock model at all. Clean lines, awesome paint, thoughtful moves to make it a touring model. I would just like to know how the SS 111 is, strengths/ weaknesses. My brother has an 87 fxr rotting in his backyard and will show him pics.
