1979 Harley Davidson FXEF 1200

What was your intended objective when you started the build?

To make it look similar to what it looked like when my uncle had it

What motivated you to start your project?

It was a Hand me down from an uncle that passed away.

What was the most unique and creative thing you did to the bike?

Lowered it, racked it, and Polished the engine cases. All while retaining all the stock parts. Including the AMF on the gas tank.

What are you most proud of?

How clean and perfect it looks. Oh and the polished cases and polished nickel plated drive chain

What do other people say about your motorcycle?

It is a constant winner at any Ohio bike shows it has been in and recently it has been awarded Best of show in TWO different Thunder Roads Ohio Championship bike shows. So I guess people really admire my build.

I guess changing the seat, pipes, and foot controls by ordering parts out of a catalog is a ” build”…

  • Mark Gaertner says:

Steve…. should you ever get the chance to view that bike you would give it the credit it deserves and know that that build was not a out of catalog build.

  • Carl Latronica says:

Outstanding machine, your time and patience has showed the quality of this build. There’s more than a catalog build here..

  • James Bussey says:

Who the hell would give this bike an “awful” on the 5 star rating?

Envy is powerful motivator I guess.
