1978 Yamaha XS400

What was your intended objective when you started the build?

Build a cafe racer with a tank and seat combo that flow.

What motivated you to start your project?

Everyone needs to do a cafe racer, right?

What was the most unique and creative thing you did to the bike?

The seat and tank are designed as one.  I started with paper templates and developed full size bucks and then made the tank and seat pan from those.

What are you most proud of?

I did everything but the powder coating.  I designed and the fabbed the tank, seat, side covers, fender, mufflers and handle bars.  There’s no bondo on the tank, side covers and fender.
