KLR 650 Fix
I found in my research that the standard exhaust on my KLR need some better airflow out. They said to take out the original insert and replace it with the Yoshimura T.E.C Insert for RS-3 Exhaust. Wow it worked great, I have excellent airflow and no overpowering exhaust noise. It was an inexpensive fix that worked better than I thought it would. I would definitely recommend this product.

Good Product But....
Good product but I had to fit it. The flange on it is round and the mounting boss on the RS-3 is oval. I had to make a template, since they didn't forsee the need for a gasket, and the trim the flange to match the oval shape of the muffler outlet. This amounts to about 20mm on each side, Then 2 holes need to be marked and drilled into this stainless flange.
Not too bad if you're set up for it, but no way to just bolt it on.
and nothing in the lit about this.
It nicely quieted the pipe

my muffler has a 1 1/8 opening. will this item fit this muffler?

BEST ANSWER: Hi, I went out and removed it from the RS3 muffler on my SV650. The business end (on the right in the pic w/ screen) measures 28-29mm so real tight on 1 1/8. Also, even tho its for a RS3 I had to modify the mounting flange to fit onto the end of the muffler. This involved grinding or cutting the sides of the flange flat and slotting the mounting holes top and bottom. So when you look at it from the end, the flange now looks oval with slots for the screws at the top and bottom. Not too hard for an ex mechanic, but not usable as shipped.
Hope this helps,
