Frustrating fit but love the sound
The overall quailty is very good. The heat shields are an excellent fit. The instructions didn't include the piece about having to take the transmission cover off to remove the stock bracket. So count on a trip to the dealer for gaskets and oil. I had trouble with the transmission mount bracket, & ended up adding 5/16 spacers to make it fit without stressing the head pipes. It was also a challenge fitting the pipes onto the heads with the heat shields on. (My wife got fingerprints all over the pipes while helping me & trying to make sure I didn't scratch anything.)
Make sure to get the Screaming Eagle flat gaskets...which contrary to the V&H website, were not included. (A second trip to the dealership if you didn't figure that out on your first trip.) Looks & sounds great!

Bracket issue for Five Speed Tranny
Sounds great - looks great. My only issue is the bracket that attaches to the transmission (592 bracket) is designed for a six speed transmission. On my five speed it's 1/2" higher and shallow. Had to modify by drilling holes lower and use a spacer. Called V&H and was advised a replacement bracket would be sent as soon as they finish the design of one.

Great Pipe!
They need to update their reviews for this system. With the new model exhaust systems and Harley's you do not have to remove the transmission cover to install the mounting bracket. At least on my 2013 FLHX you don't have to for the installation. Take your time and you will have no issues. Have the correct tools. One they don't tell you about is a ratcheting 1/2 inch combination wrench for tightening the bolts that attach the pipe to the bracket. Otherwise you will never get it tight. Also deep socket 5/8", 1/2", and 9/16". Use new exhaust gaskets. If they are stock Harley gaskets they are tapered and will work, but not as good as the V&H gaskets. The exhaust is awesome! Sounds great and increases power significantly. It is only "loud" when you get on it. Relatively subdued at cruising speeds. I used the V02 naked air intake, Fuelpak LCD and the Pro pipe. Works great! Looks great! Sounds great! If you want that dual Harley classic sound (potato potato potato) then don't buy this pipe! This pipe is like a NASCAR Harley sound! Snarls like a junk yard dog!

Perfect Sound, Increased Power
I put these pipes on a 2006 FLHRCI. These pipes are designed to fit bikes from several model years and there are significant changes between the model years. Earlier years have a 5-speed transmission. Later years have the 6-speed transmission. My guess based on my experience installing these pipes is that the better fit is on the 6-speed transmission. My 2006 FLHRCI has a 5-speed transmission.

The biggest problem I had was a Harley problem not a V&H problem - removing the stand-off bracket that held the OEM pipes to the transmission. The install instructions said to remove the oil dipstick cover and the transmission cover. I was unable to remove the transmission cover no matter how hard I smacked it with a rubber mallet after removing the bolts. The best I could do was remove the bolt from one side of the bracket and loosen the other. The clutch cable prevented removing the 2nd bold.

Once loosened the bracket would pivot then I had to cut the bracket as best I could then re-tightened the bolt with stub that was left. The new pipes would hide the stub so I am OK with that.

The install kit comes with a mounting bracket for the 5-speed and the 6-speed transmissions. The 5-speed bracket worked perfectly.

The next installation problem I encountered was a V&H problem. The right foot board needs to be removed. The V&H kit provides 2 extra washers for both mounts of the foot board to act as spacers to move the foot board outboard to accommodate the new pipes. On the 2006 FLHRCI two washers are not enough. I had to use three to get clearance. This means you should be prepared to obtain an additional suitable washer to get clearance.

Follow the instructions to the letter and in the exact order when installing the heat shields. I thought I knew better then leanrned why the instructions are the way they are. I had to remove stuff then reinstall the heat shields per the instructions. Don't think it's bull. Just RTFM (read the f****** manual) and you will save youself a ton of hassle.

The lower heat shield fit perfectly. The upper pipe heatshield does not align as nice as I would like. No amount of flexing the shield would get the perfect fit like the bottom shield. The look is OK but I would have preferred the seams of the upper and lower pipe to be identical.

Now the good stuff. The pipes have an awesome sound. Exactly what I was looking for. Low baritone rumble that gets attention. The bark on acceleration when you hammer the throttle is very exhilerating. I have the V&H high flow V02 Naked and the air intake and the fuel pack. The increase in power is obvious in the seat of the pants from the first release of the clutch. I will be using earplugs on long rides.

These pipes, intake, and fuel pack are exacely what I wanted for increases in power and an awesome sound. I am very happy with the purchase and the performance. Just had a few installation and fitment hassles that I might have been better off without.

Exactly what I wanted
I wasn't looking for earth rattling exhaust, but I wanted something that wasn't quiet either. The Pro Pipe Chrome is exactly what I wanted for my 07 FLSTF. The dealership ordered from denniskirk (on my behalf) as denniskirk had the system for over $130 less than what they offered. In addition to a stage 1 download, and a SE/AC - the Pro Pipe Chrome fit my needs perfect! Now - I'm new to this game, and parting with the $$$ hurt a bit - but I'm very happy with my purchase, and would make the same one 100 times out of 100. The combination I went with is a phenomenal difference over stock! Now if it'll warm up to a reasonable temp - I can put some serious miles on these pipes.

Put the Pro Pipe Chrome on my '07 Dyna yesterday. This bike already had a Big Sucker and ThunderMax on it. I took it for a couple short trips last night and rode it about 250 miles today. This pipe growls when its at idle or low RPM's and ROARS when I stand on the thottle. The low end and mid range is remarkable. It gets better every time I ride it as the ThunderMax adjusts the map.

The shipment was shy a couple of clamps for the heat shields. The folks at Vance and Hines make a great product but not so good at simple counting. No problem....we made it work. I think I will still use the ear plugs for long highway rides but that is a small price to pay for the gains in performance and the unique sound of this pipe. I'm truly impressed!

Massive improvement over stock
Whoa, the improvement over stock was phenomenal. bought the bike off my brother and after pipe install let him ride, he couldn't believe the gain in power and that is before breather and rejetting. The price was unbelievable. A great choice for the budget minded. Only problem was fitment of front heat shield fitment. Just a tad short to cover at muffler attachment.

V&H ProPipe for '06 Dyna
I am VERY pleased w/ this product. Installation instructions were very clear (included pics, etc.) which made the install a breeze and only basic hand tools required. I love the look, performance and sound of these. Not too loud, only a bit louder than my Screaming Eagle mufflers on my stock headers, but a very nice growl and exhaust note.
