I am a 34 waist and first purchased these in a medium. No way the mediums, which are supposed to fit 32-34 waist will fit a 34 waist. Even the large pants are very snug in the waist. Rest of the fit is great through the hips and thighs. Thus the reason behind 3 stars for comfort. Otherwise I would have given them a 5.
The ventilation is incredible on these with the liners out, and that is the biggest reason why I purchased them. They work great with the Tourmaster jacket. Very good quality construction and materials. Would definitely look at Tour Master gear again.
My wife and I both got a pair of these pants and we are extremely pleased. They are very comfortable, and because you can remove one or blth liners, the pants are great for any weather. Dennis Kirk has great service, I had to send the pants back twice to find the right size and the sales associates that helped me were extremely helpful.
I wear a size 36w pants so I ordered the XL size which is supposed to fit 36-38. I had to return and exchange for XXL because the XL only barely fit me with no slack whatsoever! These pants are absolutely awesome but they are sized too small in the waist. You have been warned!!
These will change your motorcycle life. I bought the silver color to match my Tourmaster jacket, and wore them on my 10,000 mile, one month Alaska jaunt last summer in all types of weather. Also wear them on my VStrom and DR. If you wear them every day on a trip you'll hardly need any other clothes! Imagine that. Wear a pair of jogging shorts when it's hot and you'll feel the breeze but won't get sunburned or road burned. If it's chilly put on the wind-breaker layer. If it's cold add the thermal insulation layer. If it rains the windbreaker layer is supposed to keep you dry, but I recommend a set of FrogToggs as the top layer because you probably won't want the outer mesh layer to get wet if you're going to be living with your gear for weeks at a time. If you get your set dirty you can hose it off with a hose or a pressure washer-- I did that a couple of times and it works great. At home, just put the entire set in the washer and hang it outside to dry-- it will be ready to go in a couple of hours on a sunny day. Well made, comfortable, lots of protection pads, easy on easy off, versatile, and it cuts down on laundry on a long trip.
Overall theses are pretty good. I wear a 33-34 waist, bought a size large, and I am using some of the elastic in the waist. If you wear a 36, I would probably go to the extra large. They are very heavy with both liners installed. I plan on wearing them without the liners most of the time and they are comfortable like that over shorts and semi comfortable over jeans. The knee pads are hard too move to different positions, but I guess once you get them to the right point, you will leave them there. Air flow is pretty good without the liners. I only have a few rides in so far so I can't really comment on durability.
The cut of these pants are horrible. While the waist band is correct for waist size, the seam between the waist band and the remainder is far undersized. I ordered the same size as two other pants (1 textile and 1 leather) which each fit fine but these will have to be altered to fit. A larger waist size would look like balloon pants. Also rain liner stops well short of ankle which will leave everything from mid-shin down to get soaked in rain. Oddly enough I ordered these pants as my wife bought a pair in women's size and they fit just fine. Should have sent them back immediately but didn't - my mistake, now I'm stuck with expensive pants I won't wear much if at all.
