I, unfortunately, crash tested these overpants three weeks after I got them. The crash was a 15 to 20 mph lowside. The fabric on the pants shows some abrasion but no failures and I suffered no road rash and no bruises on my legs or hips. The knee and hip protection did their job.
Beyond the protection, the pants fit well, are warm in below freezing temps, are true to size, are easy to get on and off, and they look good.
Received pants quickly and very happy with quality and function of pants. There warm and the armor protection is well placed. The only caution I would have is the sizing chart said I should order a 32-34 medium. While they fit me well, I'm a 32. If I was a 34 I believe they would have been tight. I am wearing them over blue jeans.
I wanted a pair of protective pant that fit over regular pants and they fit great!! They also breathe well, so you won't roast on a sunny summer afternoon. However, I took out the knee protectors for a more comfortable fit. Although provides protection, they are just as protective without the knee pads. Also great for women!!
Got medium, I wear a 32 x 32 pants, fit pretty good over a pair of jeans. Maybe a little sort by the ankle but not a big deal. Nice and warm for the morning 45 deg ride, yet tolerable for 78 deg after noon ride, with the vents zipped open. Have not tried them in the rain yet, but i'm confident that they will work well. Only real complant is that they are bulky, and they take up a considerable amount of room in my sadle bag. If you remove the body armor it helps with the bulkyness.
I ordered the wrong size riding pants for my son's Christmas present. We simply sent them back using the pre authorized return label . The exchange was made the same day they arrived back at Dennis Kirk. That is customer service!
