When we see people here shopping for Superwinch winches, we like to divide them into two categories of customers. There are those of you that will need a winch in the future, and those of you that needed one yesterday. Some of you are just prepping for a rainy day. You plan on taking your ATV or UTV mudding. You know you might get stuck and you want to be prepared. The other half of you also went mudding. The only difference is that you went yesterday, and you didn’t bring a winch. Whether you figured it out the easy way or the hard way, you realized that you need a winch. We’ll show you all of your options for Superwinch winches.

When buying an ATV or UTV winch, there are a couple things to consider. The first thing to consider is the capacity! This refers to the pulling capacity, how much weight it can safely move. It’s important to note that you don’t want to buy a winch that is rated for the weight of your machine. You want to go much bigger, more than double the weight of your machine. You need to be able to do more than pull the weight of your side-by-side. You also need to fight the friction, suction, and other forms of resistance on your machine.

The other thing to consider is what kind of rope you want on your winch. You can either go with a wire cable or a synthetic rope. The synthetic rope will be more malleable and easy to work with, but it is also easier to fray. Which material might be best for you, well, that’s for you to decide.
