down side, no mounting hardware, instructions are written on the flap of the box and are so small you need a microscope to read them. I look fwd to hitting the button next to someone that isn't paying attn on the road.
This horn rocks...loud and the tone has authority.
You won't wonder if your bike is attracting squirrels with this blast.
It took me about 6 hours to mount it where I wanted it on my BMW G650GS, since I had to pull panels, fender, etc to get to the Mfg's horn wiring to trigger the relay, find pieces of material to make the mounting brackets and attachments, paint, etc.
Also my dad always said: "If it's worth doin: Do it right!" and that leads to my wife saying that I am a perfectionist.
I fabricated a piece of 3/16" 1" X1" aluminum angle to mount the horn in the space I selected on the right side of the bike, behind the crash bar and in front of the rear spring strut adjusting control knob. I attached the aluminum angel to the strut control with a short twisted piece of 1/8" X1" stainless steel to get the aluminum angle to match the proper angle to mount the horn VERTICALLY and to line the aluminum angel up so it could be mounted to the top of the crash bar with a .250 S.S button head screw and NyLok retaing nut.
Then to make it more water resistant and less noticeable I spray coated the horn, lead in wires, and the optional remote air intake adapter with PlastiDip. I then connected a plastic tube to the horn's optional remote intake adapter and ran it up in behind the side panels to give the horn cleaner, dryer air.
I ran the wires and plastic breather tube through split plastic conduit for protection and to make everything black and less noticeable and just to make a clean looking installation.
The Stebel horn is Louddddd! And even the partially deaf can hear it.
My wife was inside our motor home talking to our daughter on her cell phone and my daughter on the other end of the conversation asked her mom “Was that Dad’s new horn?!?!?”
I bought 2 of the Stebel air horns, SO I could also put a Stebel on my Honda CRZ that also has a poor excuse for a horn!!!
Great horn to say the least!!!!
