They give very good traction
They work great and give very good traction. My main complaint is the fit and durability. They did not fit flush on my ski's although they are the recommended fit for my SLP ski's. The rear two mounting studs have extra metal that flanges out at the bottom above the weld flange, this is designed for safety so if the carbide rod separates the studs cannot travel fully through the mounting hole of the ski. However, I had to drill out one of the rear holes a bit on both of my ski's to get the rod to fit in. If you find you need to do this do not drill all the way through the hole as mentioned above the studs are designed for safety reasons to be thicker towards the bottom so they are not able to go through the hole. My last pair, over time, the carbide rod separated and came off at the weld point to the studs and it was only this extra width at the bottom of the stud that kept the ski attached to it, otherwise there would be nothing left to hold the ski to the sled. I recommend checking these regularly as they rust up after first use and if you see they are thin or rusting out, change them before they separate from the studs as they are a nightmare to get off at that point since you are left with only the stud, and rusted reinforced bolts.
