2014 Polaris Switchback Assault 800

What was your intended objective when you started the build?

Try and build a sled that blows my expectations out of the water without breaking the bank.

What motivated you to start your project?

I am a 16 year old working minimum wage and I have snowmobiled since I could walk, I have always ridden older sleds and this is my first rider forward sled. It has 4300 miles on it from the first owner, but the fastest it had gone was 78 mph. I went from an indy 340 to an 04 polaris 700 touring and then to this sled.

What was the most unique and creative thing you did to the sled?

Definitely the gps trackers, my buddies sled got stolen with the same gps trackers, and they found the sled within 3 hours of it being stolen.

What are you most proud of?

Definitely the budget, I sold my 04 polaris edge touring 700 with 5500 miles on it for $4000 (never post a price on facebook marketplace, let them make offers) Needless to say I am still proud of myself for pulling that one off!

Time spent: A few

Sled cost: $5500

Money spent: $400-$700

Engine: Polaris liberty 800 twin with 155 hp

Intake: Stock (so EFI)

Exhaust: Stock, but it's already loud, and in my area they don't allow aftermarket exhausts ;(

Drivetrain: Stock clutching and gearing, the track is stock (144'' with 1.35'' lugs) but it has studs. (not sure how many)

Tunnel/Chassis Modifications: All stock besides ice scratchers.

Suspension: Stock (Walker Evans Clicker Adjustable)

Brakes: Stock

Finish - Paint: Stock, but potentially looking at a wrap in the future (red black and gold)

Accessories: Chris Burandt signature low windshield and mid smoke windsheild, Chris Burandt tunnel bag, Ram-X Phone mount, and not one but two gps trackers.
