2014 Arctic Cat XF9000

What was your intended objective when you started the build?

To have a trail sled that could be all purpose. Either riding in Michigan on the trail, or the next weekend I’m at a radar run without changing anything and still competitive or lake racing on snow. I wanted a sled that could do it all and be good at it all.

What motivated you to start your project?

Always wanting to go fast. Since I was a kid I could never have something I didn’t modify to make it my own. That’s where my roots started, and over the years being self taught has helped. Making friends that also highly modify their sleds makes it a game of who can beat who and that helps push me along.

What was the most unique and creative thing you did to the sled?

I would have to say the studs I used, I always get the weirdest looks or comments on them. It has a 1.25 inch track with 2.1 inch studs.

What are you most proud of?

That wherever I take the sled on ice or snow it always gives me a smile when I pull the throttle. Nothing I have owned can accelerate like it for how cheap I am into it.

What do other people say about your sled?

My father always says to me why do you need that or this? And I always reply with because I can! I always get questions on if its reliable, and is it fun or scary? I built the sled knowing that no corner would be cut to keep it just as reliable as stock if not more reliable. That’s what makes this sled so much fun as I trust it.
