1998 Polaris Xc 700

What was your intended objective when you started the build?

To clean the sled up for the up coming season. Suspension changes, and track changes to clutching and pipes. Then when I rebuilt the motor that lead to a complete overhaul.

What motivated you to start your project?

This was the first sled I ever purchased. I bought this sled from a friend 11 years ago. He snow checked the sled in 97/98. Since I’ve owned it i have changed everything that could be changed, rebuilt the motor, and kept it really clean. This sled shocks everyone with how crisp and responsive it is.

What was the most unique and creative thing you did to the sled?

Just added my own personal tastes. I’ve even had CAT parts on the sled. I actually still run the Cat roller secondary.

What are you most proud of?

The motor. I had the crank done cases and cylinders ported, reeds, carbs, head and pipe

What do other people say about your snowmobile?

They cant believe the power it has. Most people think there sled is faster but they are always let down and the end of 660ft.

my dad had one of these when they first came out. he grudge raced it a lot and most all of his opponents were too let down at the end of 660 ft. it has psi twin pipes on it and is clutched and studded. it twisted the crankshaft out of phase back in 2002 and hasn’t run scence. were going to get it running at some point. thanks for sharing!
