1995 Polaris XLT Special

What was your intended objective when you started the build?

I wanted an all original XLT Special with the exception of triple pipes.

What motivated you to start your project?

First, I love the wedge chassis. Secondly, in 1995 when the sled was released my family didn’t have enough money to purchase the sled. I was riding a 1980 Yamaha Exciter, which cost $50 from the neighbor. Lastly, I found a guy that just wanted the sled off his land and the timing was right to make the purchase.

What was the most unique and creative thing you did to the sled?

There’s nothing too creative other than the pipes are black ceramic coated. Otherwise, it’s all original.

What are you most proud of?

The low cost budget and originality. 2,700 original miles, I’m headed for 10K or more!

What do other people say about your sled?

Looks amazing, original and the triple pipes sound great! The reliability of these engines was poor at best, however after years of trial and tribulation the issues were solved. Making this one of the most reliable sleds.
