1986 Ski-doo Safari

What was your intended objective when you started the build?

The objective was simple, take a great snowmobile that was the creator of my most fondest memories, and give it a new attitude.

What motivated you to start your project?

I loved the thought of building a resto mod of the first snowmobile I ever owned…….   so ya, what started out as a passing thought while taking a shower one morning turned into 2 months of blood sweat and band aids.

What was the most unique and creative thing you did to the sled?

I ‘m not sure how to answer that, I would say the 151″ custom hand made skid with the 2″ paddle tack, I think would answer this question best

What are you most proud of?

I think the over all fit and finish of my little safari. makes me most happy I feel like I found My old friend once again.

What do other people say about your snowmobile?

Im not sure I never asked and never talked about it much to any on.  however my wife thinks ” its nice”

Looking at using a futura for a leafer build… That ski setup looks genius; less weight, more clearance, better ride. I NEED more details, pleaase!
